Help Guide
H2O Polo is an online, interactive community formed by water polo players for water polo players. The mission of H2O Polo is to use technology to encourage increased communication and contact among those playing the sport, at all levels, within the United States and internationally.
Navigating The Site
The site is divided into sections, each section represented by a button on the H2O Polo navigation bar. To go to a particular section, click on the appropriate button. The diagram below shows which buttons link to which sections.

Explain the navigation bar

If you require assistance, click on the "?" button in the top right-hand corner. This button will bring you to help for a particular page if it is available and, if not, you will come to this page.

The "!" button is active on pages with which you can interact with in real-time. This is the core idea of the site, so make sure to contribute today!

Interacting
H2O Polo encourages, heck, we demand your involvement with this site! We measure our success not by the number of "hits" or "Cool Site of the Day" rankings, but by the degree to which this site becomes a focal point for the water polo community, in the U.S. and worldwide. In short, we want to take our motto, "For water polo players, by water polo players" to the extreme.

All of the content at H2O Polo is provided by visitors (mostly water polo players) like you. You will notice prompts throughout the site inviting you to participate by adding a variety of content. Start contributing today.

Showcase Features
H2O Polo features three main sections. Each contains information of specific interest to water polo players and fans. The content in each section is provided by the users of this site and you will notice that each section solicits your involvement. We have designed H2O Polo to be intuitive and user-friendly.
Hot Shots
Hot Shots are links to other water polo WWW pages, including team home pages, US Water Polo, the Olympics, team schedules, and more. Our database allows you to search for specific kinds of sites -- a real time saver. New links are listed first and are marked "new."

How to participate: Send us any water polo URLs you encounter in your web adventures. Team home pages, collegiate athletic departments' web pages, and Olympic web sites are all welcome for the Hot Shots. Again, links you submit are immediately added to Hot Shots. Add a link now!

The Player of the Week is the player who has done the most to help his or her team. Achievement in the pool -- leading scorers, game winners, clutch goalies -- or contributions to general team spirit -- springing for the road sodas, having the whole team over for dinner, etc. -- can be recognized by the prestigious Player of the Week honor.

How to participate: Nominate your Player of the week now! Use our form to register a brief description of why he or she deserves the award. The evaluation of nominations will be impartial. We encourage you to send JPEGs and GIFs with your nominations.

About H2O Polo - Our Mission
H2O Polo is an online, interactive community formed by water polo players for water polo players. The mission of H2O Polo is to use technology to encourage increased communication and contact among those playing the sport, at all levels, within the United States and internationally.

H2O Polo is a unique web experiment. To our knowledge, this is one of the few (if not the only) web sites on which the content is created by you, the visitor. Oh sure, there are sites where you can design your own pizzas and make monsters explode, but H2O Polo is not only pretty cool, it's useful. We feel that this unique, user-driven strategy is the best way to reflect the popularity and diversity of water polo.

H2O Polo has been recognized for several web awards since its inception in September of 1995.

Who We Are
H2O Polo is operated by Loren Strand and Alex Paidas, former water polo players at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. H2O Polo hit the web in September 1995.

We are happy to present this site as a service to water polo players worldwide. Suggestions for improving the content and presentation of H2O Polo are welcomed.

We hope that you will become a regular contributor to H2O Polo.
