Troy received a bachelor's degree in History and plans on teaching high school after the Olympics. He appeared in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue (January 1994). He is one of two players on the team who is married. (wife Carmen). His greatest thrill was the birth of his son, Troy Joaquin (born 1/9/95)

Troy's hobbies include crossword puzzles, cooking, reading and writing. Also, he enjoys golf & fishing and eventually would like to become a newscaster. His favorite quotation is, "Between an idea and an act there lies a kingdom."
